Last night proved fighting still has it's place in the game. Okposo lit up Niskanen and turned the momentum clearly in the Isles favor. The Isles walked a little taller after that fight and the Penguins had no answer for it.

Absolutely. The "mainstream" will never accept fighting as part of any major sport, but we, hockey fans, know better.

Okposo brought it last night. And i believe, the Isles rediscovered the team that went through April like a buzzsaw. The Pens are still the Pens, but now the Isles are IN this series.

Getting a split in Pittsburgh is all the Isles could ask for. They got it and now they have home ice advantage. That old barn in Uniondale might look like sh!t but oh man will it be a rockin' Sunday and Tuesday. This series just got interesting.

Brian Strait was a beast last night, great pickup.

Funny bcs he wasn't looking good in the first and he was horrible in the first game. Doug weight tearing them a new a$$ in btn periods did them all good.

Lots of emotions last night for me. Went from wanting to throw the TV through the window during the first period to being real happy they competed over the last 40 minutes and pulled the game out. KO manned up in a big way. Niskanens hit was clean, but something needed to be done. That fight seemed like the isles collectively saying through KO that they were done being run over and embarrassed. Can't wait for Sunday afternoon.

Mclennan said it on the NHL network last night. He did the same thing at the rag game before last. Capuano is just not that kind of coach I guess? Weight gets these guys going. Next coach

It was a great fight. A genuine hockey fight, not a staged bout between two talentless goons. A fight that resulted from the emotion of the game, not an appointment.

Okposo said through that fight, "We will not go quietly into the night!" We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive!"

You remember the movie........

Key point: SOME fighting still has it's place. Last night's fight? Fantastic. Turned the game (and potentially series) around. But an appointment fight between Boulton and Engelland 12 seconds into the game wouldn't have done much.
